I just got a v1 for xmas, and I decided to install it as not to use the cig lighter. So after reading a little and with a little guess work I pulled down the power cords to my auto dimming mirror and tapped into the yellow/back wire currently in the car with the red wire from the Direct-wire power adapter, then grounded the other wire to the metal frame.

So the thing works fine, but for some very weird reason the first 2 times I started the car the passenger side airbag said it was off even when someone was sitting in it. After a few more starts over the day the problem went away.

I just want to check to see if this is the proper way to do it, and if I did not mess anything up.

Note: The car I installed it in was a 2010 subaru outback.
